How to Let Go of The Past

One of more common issues that couples deal with is the unwillingness to let go of past mistakes or arguments. They are like sleeping volcanoes waiting to erupt every time a fight breaks out. Couples seem to indulge in revisiting past issues over and over until they pile up so high, the relationship finally collapses from a foundation made up of resentment and lies. You may feel those issues still resonating even after the break up.

If you want your ex girlfriend back, there is no way to get around it, you and HER need to let go of the past.

How do you let go of the past? Can you think back to some arguments you have had, try to remember what triggered the past been brought up. This could be another person because someone cheated. Perhaps a look your ex girlfriend gave to someone else, or perhaps you came home late one night and got accused of something you didn’t do.

Did someone jump to conclusions too fast? Was it you? If you accused your ex of doing something, whether it was true or not, they are going to be hurt that you thought less of them. Thinking less of someone is just another way to show them that you don’t APPRECIATE them.

This would only force them to become defensive. In the process of acting defensive, they will be more likely to attack you for something and the next thing you know a big fight breaks out.

If you want your girlfriend back, you need to have trust in her. The past is the past and everyone makes mistakes. How else can you learn from them? If you are a jealous person, you may need to work on your own self-esteem. Why ‘are’ you jealous? Do you not think you are good enough? Do you think perhaps you were your own worst enemy and at the end of the day you self-sabotaged the relationship?
